Since both schools are graduate schools, then the following is the average undergraduate GPA for the Class of 2010, for admission into the MBA program at each school:

Harvard: 3.66
Yale: 3.5
Tuck: 3.44

they only accept the absolute best of the best in the nation so no, 3.7-4.0 is not at all unreasonable as an average. it’s about so much more than just a student’s GPA though. You also need the right professional experience, about a 670 or better on your GMAT, strong recommendations, really strong admissions essay, the right personal and professional goals. there’s a lot that goes into a graduate school admission and acceptance

a 4.0 is just having all A’s. meaning not having any grade under 90.

you probably thought it mean 100 average.

3.4 from Tuck School means like 88 or 86

how is a 4.0 unrealistic? Many people I know have above 4.0s due to AP classes. someone who says that it is unrealistic shouldn’t be looking into harvard or yale. in addition, grades aren’t everything. high SAT scores, dedication and leadership in extra curriculars, community service, and an outstanding application essay is also essential to the ivy leagues. plenty of people who have high GPAs get turned away every single year because they do not have anything else to offer except for that.
